How to Write and Publish Your Own Book

Is it your dream to hold your own book in your hands? Well, it’s easier than you think! Start the new year by kicking off one of your life goals.

Come along to the 1 day Brisbane seminar with author, blogger and internet entrepreneur, Joanna Penn from The Creative Penn.

Sunday 21 March 2010 – How to Write and Publish Your Book plus/ Build your Author Platform Online

10am registration for 10.15am start. Finishing at 5pm at Brisbane Central Library, 266 George Street, Brisbane.

Click here for the flier in PDF format.

The seminar will have 3 main teaching sessions as well as exercises and Q&A on each topic:

  • How to write your own book: Including how to overcome your blocks, how to actually write and structure a book, and much more.
  • How to publish your book. Including the pros and cons of traditional publishing, self-publishing, print-on-demand, digital publishing and ebooks. Plus, all the free/cheap Web 2.0 tools you can use to get started now in all these areas.
  • How to build your Author Platform Online. You need to think about selling and marketing your book before it’s finished. Publishers want authors with a market, and self-published authors need people to buy their books. This session will cover the basics of blogging and using social networking (Twitter/Facebook and more) to start building a hungry audience for your book.

You will leave inspired to write your book and armed with the knowledge to get it published and sold.

“How lovely to learn the easy way by being able to take advantage of someone else’s real world experiences and being shown the pitfalls to avoid. This has been very illuminating, motivating time-saving and also really enjoyable. Can’t wait to start!”
Alison Wilson

““Revealed the clear and accessible process of going from idea all the way to becoming published. Also encouraging to meet a room of people facing various doubts and challenges – no one is alone!”, Paul Cunningham

I have recently been to a 1.5 hour session that Joanna ran and I think a full day will really add so much more benefit. Whilst the short session was great, it would be great for Joanna to have more time to really get into detail – she just knows soooo much helpful information.

Thanks Joanna for setting up this session.

I attended Joanna’s seminar last month with a group of people ranging from those with complete drafts to those who still had no idea what to write their book about.

Safe to say everyone walked out satisfied with the brilliant and inspiring content that Joanna delivered. And I’ve never seen an audience stay fully engaged for an entire day at any seminar before this one, so that says a lot about her presentation skills.

Highly recommended!

Just came across your web ite and went to the page on your course “How to Write and Publish Your Own Book”. You mention a 1 day Brisbane seminar. You fail to tell anyone reading your piece where Brisbane is and how to get there. I might be interested but I don’t know where you are. I live in British Columbia Canada. I went to Google Maps and entered the library address and found you are in Australia. Too far to go for the day. good luck with your seminar. sounds like I would like to attend.
