  • A very useful list. I have finished and won the NaNoWriMo of this year and i'm entering the editing process. I have an alpha and a beta readers, I've already taken some notes for my futur edit jot down more idea. I want to make it professionnal and i can't seem to find any good local (Québec) ressources. Do you know any (french)canadian editor?

  • I'm working with Bubblecow myself on my latest book so I'll let you all know how it goes. Early days but the return copy of my manuscript just came back so I'm interested to see what they made of it.

I will keep you all posted.

  • I'm not sure where you're getting your info, however good topic. I must spend some time studying much more or working out more. Thank you for excellent information I used to be on the lookout for this information for my mission.|

  • Silly question really. I write romance - sensual - not erotic. But I'm a bit wary of sending a MS "out there". Preferably, I would like an editor/proof-reader who writes/edits romances as well. Do you, or your fellow bloggers, know of any? Many thanks - Caroline

  • I notice many of your editors and the two editorial organizations are UK-based. Writers, be sure to use an editor with the same English variant of your book (US or UK). In the US, the best place to find editors is the http://www.the-efa.org/- Editorial Freelancers Association.

  • A list of editors is better than no list, but hard to evaluate between them. Do you know about editors who specialize in different kinds of books. For example a historical novel aimed at academia. Where would I go with that?

  • Hi, I am just starting out on my journey of writing books and publishing. I published one book on Smashwords.com but I am currently working on turning it into a series. How do you find the time to write all of this content for your blogs, books, etc.? As a "novice" author, I find it difficult to balance working on my blog, revising my book, college, and personal life. It can be quite overwhelming!

  • Has anyone had any experience with The Writer's Workshop? I've had a look at their site and their assessments look very thorough and professional. Seems that they're doing great things for authors. I've redrafted my novel and it's with some readers at the moment but I'm also after a professional point of view. Suggestions welcome!

    • I sent my ms to The Writer's Workshop a few years ago. I was very pleased with the thoroughness of the report they sent me and did take on board most of the comments they made. I have since redrafted it several more times, but that initial assessment was worth the money as I hadn't shown it to anyone else.

I also went to a self-editing workshop run by them and found that invaluable.

      Hope this helps!
