In October, I was the speaker at a writer's retreat in Ubud, Bali. The retreat also featured daily yoga and in this video, I explain how writing is like yoga.

In this video, you will learn:

  • “No judgment. No judgment.” This is very important when it comes to yoga and writing. Remember you shouldn't judge yourself and your first draft. Later you can edit it, but at first just let it be.
  • Different poses suit different people, like different writing styles suit different people. That's fine and all is acceptable. There are many different stories in the world like there are many different bodies.
  • Yoga is a practice like writing is a practice. You will feel more confident and flexible if you incorporate it as daily practice.
  • When people have been doing yoga a long time, they improve in the same way writers improve over time.

Thanks to Iyan and Claude from OneWorldRetreats and also Robin Sparks for organizing the event.
